Through Executive Decree No. 722 of October 15, 2020, the subcategory of Permanent Resident as a Qualified Investor is created within the category of Permanent Resident for economic reasons, for maintaining investment activities in the Republic of Panama. To obtain permanent residence in our country, as a "Qualified Investor", the applicant must demonstrate the purpose of his investment, which according to Executive Decree No. 722, the minimum amount is US $ 500,000.00.
The applicant may invest in a personal capacity and may also do so through the figure of a legal person, in which the applicant must always be the final beneficiary of the shares.
How can I obtain my Permanent Residence as a Qualified Investor?
Through any of the following characteristics you can obtain your Residence and invest in Panama:
- Real Estate Investment in the purchase of real estate free of encumbrances.
- Real estate investment through a contract of promise of sale for the acquisition of a future property made through a Trust deposit.
- Investments through a Brokerage House with a license approved by the Superintendency of the Securities Market of Panama.
- Investments in Fixed Term Deposits in the Panamanian banking sector.
